Abstract:Sun has made several investments in various open source
virtualization technologies for computation, storage, and
networking. This talk will describe a couple of key technologies in
depth, explain how they are used, and attempt to place them in the
context of industry trends. The technologies include Xen,
VirtualBox, Solaris Zones, Sunray and Crossbow. The talk will also
explore some of the ideas being explored on various work-in-progress
topics such as virtual appliances, distros, and network scale
computing.
