Bio: Dr. Sharaf is a Lecturer in the School of Information Technology & Electrical Engineering at The University of Queensland. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Pittsburgh in 2007 and was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Toronto until 2009. Dr. Sharaf is a member of the Data and Knowledge Engineering (DKE) group at UQ and he also holds an adjunct Assistant Professor position in the Computer Science Dept. at Pitt. In 2008, he was awarded the Ontario Ministry of Research and Innovation (MRI) post-doctoral fellowship. He was also the recipient of the Taulbee Award for Excellence in Computer Science in 2002 and a two-time winner of the Andrew Mellon Predoctoral Fellowship in 2003 and 2004. Dr. Sharaf has been a program commitee member, reviewer, and organization officer for several conferences and journals in the area of Data Management.


 We have received a 3-year research grant from the Australian Research Council (ARC):

ARC Discovery Project: "QualA-D: A Quality Aware Query Engine for Next Generation Data Integration Systems" (with Shazia Sadiq and Ke Deng). Amount $240,000 (2011-2013).
