Researcher biography

Arman Afsari was born in Shiraz, Iran, in 1987. He received his PhD degree in electrical engineering from The University of Queensland, Australia, in 2019, where he is currently a postdoctoral research fellow with the ITEE School. His research interests include the propagation and scattering analysis of fields and waves in inhomogeneous media.

Dr. Afsari is a recipient of several IEEE conference grants including ICMM 2012, Germany, COMPUMAG 2013, Hungary, and ICEAA 2016, Australia. In 2013, he was qualified by Yazd University, Iran, as a special talent, granted exemption from national entrance exam to gain admission to postgraduate educations. In 2015, he received the Maude Walker Scholarship Award from The University of Queensland, given annually to one PhD student in electrical engineering who is evaluated as the most appropriate candidate to pursue the PhD studies. In November 2020, the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society selected Dr. Afsari as the outstanding reviewer of the year, in recognition of his professional service to the IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation.
