Participatory design is an approach to the design of new technologies that involves working with and for end users. It has been well-explored in contexts involving working with a range of “mainstream” groups, from office workers to abled children. In Pushing the Boundaries of Participatory Design, we aim to extend participatory design more widely, to groups who are usually under-served by research.
